Hi, I’m Vandana Bhasin, a writer and artist and member of the WICCI Haryana Arts Leadership Council.
Verses & Hues: these two things truly define the essence of my life.
Writing is considered one of the most sacred and effective ways of expressing human emotions. I have been pursuing my passion of writing for seven years. From writing my first poem in 2016 to writing consistently for many years across genres on multiple platforms, winning awards and being published in over two dozen anthologies, I have traversed a long journey – one that was not only rewarding but also much fulfilling.
I found art when writing seemed to evade me, given the changing scenario of the world gripped in the woes of the pandemic. Art proved to be as therapeutic and meditative as writing. I immersed myself in patterns and colours and continued to create intricate artworks on my way to learning. In a period of about three years, I learned more than thirty art forms. This also gave me an opportunity to become a member of the coveted WICCI Haryana Art Leadership Council.
It was now time to consolidate my work. I felt the need to have all my writings and artworks at one place. With this thought, I started working on my website a few months ago. Along with this came the idea of having my own workspace where I could devote some quality time to writing and creating bigger art pieces, as well as display my artworks aesthetically for sale and customisation.
With blessings of the Almighty, Verses & Hues now has a physical as well as virtual presence. The Verses and Hues Art Studio, located at Eros City Square, Sector 49 Gurugram, has been curated as an artistic nook where art lovers can buy exquisite artworks, immerse in art through art classes and workshops, or learn creative writing. The space is available for organising literary or art events such as poetry evenings, Open Mic, book reading sessions and more.
Offering a warm ambience, the studio is strategically situated in the heart of the city and can easily accommodate up to twenty people, who can come together for their creative pursuits over a cup of tea or coffee.
The website, www.versesandhues.art, is home to a select collection of my artworks that can add warmth and elegance to the interiors of your home or office. The website also features some of my poetry, short stories and motivational writing.
I’m available at the studio from 11 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. To schedule a visit or an art event, or to simply connect and explore ideas, you’re welcome to write to me at vandana@versesandhues.art.
Thank you for reading! Before you go, a glimpse of the studio and the inaugural event held in association with the Asian Literary Society:
