A Note from the President
Dear Council Members and valued Subscribers,
I hope this message finds you well and in great spirits. It is my pleasure to share some exciting updates and upcoming initiatives that reflect our vibrant, dynamic and ever-evolving community of thinkers, writers, artists and entrepreneurs.
On 9 April, we had the privilege of hosting a council meeting with our National President, Dr S. Beena Unnikrishnan, whose insights and expertise were truly inspiring. Her advice is helping to shape our future projects, and we are thrilled to have her support. Beena’s vision aligns perfectly with our goals of fostering a supportive and innovative environment for everyone. We were also delighted to receive signed copies of her fantastic book, Whispers of the Unseen: The Quest for Sixty-four Yoginis.
It was an absolute delight to learn about her artistic journey and its culmination in the publication of this book. In all, it was a delightful celebration of camaraderie and of finding strength in mutual support. We wish Beena all the best for all her upcoming projects.
In other developments, the Overleaf Book Club continues to be a source of joy and enrichment for its members. The theme for this month’s meetup, held on 24 May at Verses and Hues Art Studio in Gurugram, was ‘Humour’, promising the attendees a lot of laughter and light-hearted discussion. And laugh we did! There were also some enlightening revelations on the genesis of humour and how we consume it today vis-à-vis the old times.
These book club meetings are turning out to be a wonderful opportunity to unwind and connect with fellow book lovers who share a passion for good stories and great company. To be a part of this wonderful group, write to us at haryana.arts.council@gmail.com.
Looking ahead, we have some exciting initiatives on the horizon. We are in the process of establishing an Art Committee dedicated to nurturing creativity and artistic expression within our community. This committee will provide a platform for artists to showcase their work, collaborate on projects, and inspire each other.
Moreover, we are committed to promoting mental health and well-being. Our upcoming mental health initiatives aim to provide support, resources, and a safe space for anyone in need. Together, we can build a community that is not only thriving but also caring and compassionate. More annoucements soon.
Finally, I want to emphasize the importance of building a strong, connected community. Each of you plays a vital role in making our community what it is today. Let’s continue to support each other, share our ideas, and work together towards a brighter future.
Thank you for your continued involvement and enthusiasm. With your energy and optimism, there is no limit to what we can achieve.
Warm regards,
Komal Gupta
